Put Your Computer's Guts on a Shelf

Ok, well, the main reason I would really consider this a "ghetto" project is that it really has no purpose, no actual use, and it will probably look bad unless done in a not-bad way. Of course there are some redeeming qualities of this. For one, from observation, it's clear to see that when your computer is not placed in a case tucked under your desk, like, for instance, on a shelf, it seems to stay significantly cooler. Like 6-7 degrees Celsius, to be exact (or is it approximate because I said "6-7"...hmmm...grrr... stupid english language...).

All-in-all, it is a cool thing to do when you are extremely bored and want to do something time-consuming and gratifying.

The Materials necessary for this project are quite minimal. All you will need is:

• A computer (preferably one you don't care about a warranty on)
• A relatively large, open shelf or desk (or floor...?)

The components of my computer my vary greatly from yours. The following is a list of the components I will be addressing (in case you were wondering...):

• ASUS A7V600 motherboard
• AMD Athlon 2800+ Barton Core
• 1x1000 MB DDR 3200 Ram, 1x256 MB DDR 3200 RAM
• ATI All-In-Wonder 9600XT 128 MB
• Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
• 2xSATA hard drives (250 GB and 160 GB) and 1xPATA hard drive (160 GB)
• Aquastar 3000 watercooling unit
• 350 Watt ATX power supply
• Memorex 16x DVD+/-R DL DVD burner
