Back to the basics...
Okay, now STRIP! (The wire, folks... come on... )
Ok, since we can't easily connect these two electrical components, we will do it the hard way. Hard-wiring, that is...

So, as you can see, the first thing you need to do is literally cut the antenna wire into two pieces. From the coaxial connection, go about 6" down and snip it off. You will now be left with a 6" long useless cable with a coax connection on the end of it and an antenna with no connector. This was the part I felt bad about. Nevertheless, I had to move on.

The next thing you need to do is strip away 1.5" section of the protective outer layer of the cable attached to the antenna and bundle the braided copper mesh that is wrapped around the inner wire into a wire shape (as seen above). Now, strip away a 0.5" section of the white protective outer layer that encases the inner cable (the actual antenna...). You should now have a cable that looks like the above photo.
